Crypto Community Unites to Donate $10 Million to Earthquake Victims in Turkey

Major Crypto Companies Pitch In

The last few days have been marked by reports of massive earthquakes in Turkey and Syria which resulted in thousands of casualties. In response, several major crypto companies have come together to create a relief fund for the survivors of this tragedy. Binance, Bitfinex, KuCoin, OKX, and Tether are some of the leading names who have pledged over $9 million in donations. Additionally, Avalanche Fundation donated another $1 million in AVAX tokens and invited others to join them.

Death Toll Continues To Increase

As of now, the death toll stands at over 7,000 with more than 20,000 injured. However it is expected that these numbers will continue to grow as time passes. This is why the crypto community is stepping up their efforts to provide whatever assistance they can give.

Crypto World Showing Support

The Avalanche Foundation’s executive director Aytunc Yıldızlı said that Turkey is close to their hearts and that these funds will help people recover faster from this tragedy. Binance’s CEO Changpeng Zhao commented on the situation saying that it was time for the crypto world to show support and be a sign of hope during this difficult period.

Encouraging Others To Donate What They Can

Apart from the initial responders mentioned above many other executives are willing to lend a helping hand and contribute what they can towards earthquake relief efforts in Turkey and Syria. The Avalanche Foundation has encouraged others to join them as well by donating what they can afford even if it’s just a small amount which could make a huge difference when combined with all other donations added together.
